Dear Graham 10.06.2010

Well, it's certainly been a long while.  Things have changed.

Unfortunately, Daddy and I just couldn't make it work.  We've been separated/divorced now for over two years.  It was the best thing for all of us.

During this time you walked, talked, ran and got your gorgeous hair cut.

I'll try to fill in the blanks as I can, but for now, I'm back to tell you how awesome it is to be your mom.

Love,
Mommy

Dear Graham 10.11.07

Dear Graham,
First Tooth!
Lately, you have slept so much, which was great, but Daddy and I were beginning to wonder about how you were feeling. Well, this morning I felt your gums and hurray, we have a tooth! Just barely peeking through, but it is there. Pretty soon you’ll have a whole mouth full of pearly whites.

Love, Mommy

Dear Graham 10.06.07

Dear Graham,
You are so amazing every day. You are sitting up well, that's your new trick...sitting up tall with a toy in each hand. You scoot around on your belly so fast we can't keep up with you. We put you on the floor and you make a beeline for the puppy food. You love her so much, I guess you just want to share a meal!

You eat so much. At school they give you cereal when you get there, I send you four bottles, then you get cereal and two veggies or a fruit and a veggie. Plus, we are still nursing 2-4 times a day. You definitely have Daddy's appetite!

We love you so much and you are growing bigger every day. Over 17 lbs now!

Love,
Mommy

Dear Graham 09.14.07

Dear Graham,
You turned 7 months old yesterday. You are crawling really well, even standing up on your feet with your hands on the floor. You wake up every day with a perfect smile. You still don't have any teeth!

You've had some congestion, so a doctor's visit was in order this week. Turns out the drainage caused an ear infection so we had to get some antibiotics and Claratin. Hopefully, you'll be feeling better soon. First real sickness in 7 months. Who says formula is as good as mommy milk?

You're growing so fast, little "ba-ba-ba-ba-da-da-da-dama-ma-ma-ma's" are the length of your vocabulary now. You eat like crazy, cereal, fruits, veggies and milk, you have the appetite of your father.

These next couple of months you will change dramatically, I can't wait, but wish to put it off too.

Love,
Mommy

Dear Graham 08.22.07

Dear Graham,
You had your sixth month well baby check up on Friday August, 17. You are 18 lbs 8oz and twenty-seven inches long! You are in the 75% for both weight and height.

Last night, the Panamanian grandparents were in town just before they go back to Bocas and you showed off really good! You are crawling baby steps and it's just so neat. We just sat around and cheered you on, of course, Lemonade is the best encouragement. You are so eager to get her swishy black tail!

The vaccinations made you feverish and you've not slept as well since them, but here's hoping for more 7hr stretches soon.

Love,
Mommy

Dear Graham 08.13.07

Dear Graham,
Today you are six months old. I have been lax about writing here, but I hope you will forgive that. We are always so busy. Daddy has returned to school with a whole new set of sixth graders to teach and mold. He misses being with you so much, I see the sadness and twinge of guilt each morning when he must leave you.

You are so very close to crawling. If only you could get that chubby tummy off the floor, you'd be going places fast. You smile all the time, still, and the ladies at your new daycare are already head over heels in love with you. You definitely have a way with the ladies, even at this tender age. It makes me nervous for your high school years!

Mommy and baby have thrush, which is more painful for me than you, but it makes you stick out your tongue a whole lot.

We have a well baby check up on Friday, I think you'll weigh in at 18 lbs or more, but we shall see.

I love you so much, you are growing and changing every day.

Love,
Mommy

PS Daddy is recording a song for you this week, it is beautiful, just like you.

Dear Graham 07.11.07

Dear Graham,

Wow! So much has been happening this past week, it's hard to keep up. You've been teething and that's been very difficult for you. Especially since, as a bf baby, you've never been sick. This is your first experience with a fever and pain, really. Mommy and Daddy have been up and down at night for the past week because you've been so miserable. It makes us so sad when we can't help you.

But on to the good news! You are starting to crawl! You get your little legs underneath your but and just scoot forward. You flip over and back, you really are so amazing to us. The wonder of watching you grow and develop is never lost on us. You are the light of our lives.

You are also just beginning to sit up, propped on your arms. You can stay that way long enough for me to button your shirts.

And last, but DEFINITELY not least.....

You slept for eight hours last night.

Then you got up, I gave you your medicine, fed you and you slept another hour in bed with me and Daddy.

Hurray for sleep!!!

It's a good day, Mister Graham. Certainly a good day.

Love,
Mommy

PS You will be 5months old on the 13th, which is Friday...spooooOOOoooky!
